I asked for no onion got onion I asked for no sour cream and got sour cream the al pastor sucked ...the red sauce sucked the Al pastor enchilada had NO MEAT but the cashier was pleasant... absolutely THE WORST Mexican food I've ever had . Jesse and Debbie

You know you're in an authentic Mexican Restaurant when... nothing fancy but good food at a reasonable price. They have take-out too.

Hard to find from road. Worth stopping in for good Mexican food. Fish tacos (broiled) were excellent. Everyone enjoyed meal. They do take out too.

We stopped here for dinner while passing through on a road trip. Food was bland, guacamole was not fresh, and the girl taking orders was very unfriendly. The prices are reasonable, which is probably the only nice thing to be said. We wouldn’t come back here.

Great Michelada.. spicy and flavorful. Veggie tacos were good. Guacamole wasn’t freshly prepared but good flavors. Salsa and verde sauce both were bland. But overall good experience.

The armadillo is the must-get item. It comes sizzling in a molcajete full of meats, shrimp, and nopales in a tasty spicy sauce. It is enough food for two hungry people.

We tried it for the first time and I was very very pleased with the flavors of the food. I plan to go back!

I was gonna give it 4 stars but I have to consider the environment - for the available options, this place is definitely a great choice. Semi authentic Mexican cuisine for a standard price. The service I got was very good from the food runner but not the cashier. Great for families!

Love this place, best Mexican in Truckee BY FAR, don't even try any of the other restaurants. Vegetarian options, great pico de gallo and homemade hot sauce. We go pretty much every Tuesday for tacos, but everything on the menu is delicious.

Family run, good, authentic Mexican food, lengua, cabeza, etc corn tacos. Long wait when busy and fairly loud.

Good chicken burrito but the menudo kind of tasted like it was from a can... huge chunks if pig fat were in it too i basically didnt eat half if it because of it.

The gal taking orders was so unfriendly I will not come back. The food is just ok but not worth it when the person taking orders obviously doesn’t want to work there. She makes no eye contact, doesn’t smile and never told us where we were supposed to wait for our to go order. She didn’t ask our name or told us what our number was. Silverware was not put in the bag so we went back to get it and she was annoyed she had to be bothered. She should work somewhere where no human contact is needed. We will take our business where it is appreciated.

We have eaten taco Tuesday every Tuesday for the last six months and this is by far the worst Mexican food we've had.

The food was very authentic and tasty. No frills but clean and the people who worked there waa very humble.

Basic No Frills Mexican food was good, and the restaurant although it is tucked away in a strip mall was nice.

Wasn't the best Mexican restaurant I've eaten at (which is many because Mexican food is my favorite) but it most certainly wasn't the worst either

No words can describe how bad their food is not to mention we all got sick with in a few mins of eating.

A real find , not imposing but oh so tastey! Had tacos, of course! Asada, and fish. Reasonable prices too.

The Burrito that I got was not wrapped correctly therefore it came apart when I tried to eat it. The meat didn't taste good. I was not even offered chips and salsa.

Service is good and so is the food. I would have liked more dark green lettuce in my taco salad:)

Its the best in town but that's no saying much. If this place stayed open til 10 or 11 it would get an extra star! Good food, way overpriced. If you're addicted to Mexican food like me though, THIS is where to go in Truckee make no mistake.

We're from out of town and chose this restaurant based on the reviews. It's more than I'm use to paying for Mexican but oh well, maybe it's worth it? Sadly, no. I got an enchilada and taco plate. The rice was cold, had a lone pea and onion in it. Not sure if it was meant to be in there or not. My daughter found a French fry in her rice. My beans were WAY hot, my daughter's were cold. My cheese enchilada was very thin. The sauce on it was sweet. Not my favorite. I paid a tip when I paid (pay at the beginning) assuming I'd get some extra service. Nope. They brought our food. They took the plates when we were done. No refills. Had to pay for chips and salsa(also not use to that). Maybe we came on a bad day but I'd say skip it and go elsewhere.

Ordered at the counter, tried to pronounce tamarindo drink and pretty sure I did it correctly. Lady at the counter decided to smirk and i thought that was rude. Food was okay but the burrito just completely fell apart. Not sure if I'll come back

I want to give this place 4.5 stars. It’s got great service and staff, good Mexican beers, and great chips... BUT the carne asada burrito and tacos weren’t very special/unique and their salsa is watery. This place will certainly hit the spot if you’re looking for decent Mexican food.

The exterior appears more 'hole-in-the-wall' than it is. Mexican charm. Clean. Quick friendly service. Really good food. Some specialty. Lots of Authenticity. The prices are a bit higher than one might guess, but nothing exorbitant and certainly worth the quality and quantity of food received. Go and Enjoy.

This is the first time in my life that I have not left a tip. The girl at the counter was incredibly rude. Get a front of house person with better customer service.

Worst food ever. Ordered a California brito. Everything inside was cold. The French fries weren't even cooked completely raw potato. I'll never eat there again. If you're in this area I suggest you don't eat there either.

Delicious tacos! Quesadilla was enormous and yummy too. Seemed pretty popular with the locals - looking line but worth the wait.
